A workflow concept that prepares artwork and machine settings for the xTool S1 instead of relying on memory, luck and sacrificial plywood.
TO MACHINE.
The problem
Laser work is split across image preparation, material knowledge, machine settings and export. The useful information exists, but usually in scattered notes, screenshots and the operator’s increasingly suspicious memory.
Different materials need different image treatment. A preset without context is merely a confident-looking way to ruin an expensive blank.
The idea
Make the material the starting point. Upload an image, choose the surface and process, then receive artwork treatment, test guidance and machine-ready settings from one consistent workflow.

- Starting settings, not dishonest guarantees.
- Export guidance kept beside the visual treatment.
The build
The prototype combines image-processing logic, material presets and export guidance. It is designed as a practical workshop tool rather than an AI chat box wearing safety glasses.
The settings library needs broader validation across material batches, lenses and machine conditions. Physics remains stubbornly unwilling to accept branding guidelines.
The outcome
The concept now has a clear product structure and a growing knowledge base. It reduces repeated setup work while keeping the operator responsible for testing, because confidence is not a substitute for a test grid.
